These are some of the things that Pasuquinos in the past used in their everyday life. It is important to appreciate how they skillfully crafted their needs with their own hands from resources around them at the time. Despite the modern wares that we see today, some of these items are still used by some segments of society, though the crafting skills of the past have waned.
Aklo and sikuko – food ladles made from sections of polished coconut shell with wood handles
Baki – a temporary pen made of bamboo skin for transporting chicken.
Banga and Sagapa – earthen (clay) pot with formed rattan formed as pot rings – wherein a pot rests
Baul/Lacasa – a clothes chest, with a swing-up cover; usually made of hardwood.
Bunot – coconut husk (crosswise half of a coconut fruit) for polishing wood or bamboo floors. Used with a foot.
Buyoboy – polished coconut shell used for drinking water or basi red wine.
Dalikan – a clay stove using firewood. Anguyob – a blowtube to rekindle fire to a smoldering firewood.
Dulang – a low wooden dinner table used by diners in a squatting position
Hasag – a ceiling-hung lamp whose light comes from a fabric mantle (gasa) that emits a bright white gas light while pressurized and heated by kerosene fuel.
Karison – bullcart used to transport farm produce, implements and people
Kingki – a table lamp with a glass jar or tin can body and a cloth filament in a tin tube casing that sticks out from inside through the lamp’s cover. Fueled with kerosene.
Labig – men’s raincoat made of “labig” leaves, worn like a cape, with drawstring to tie around the neck.
Makinilya (typewriter) – the forerunner of the wordprocessor that we have on personal computers today.
Miskit & Kantina – surplus stainless steel food containers and aluminum water bottles used by American soldiers during WWll
Pagsagatan – Bamboo sieve for hot, watered-down anchovy which is added to inabraw soup or pakbet to taste.
Pal-palsoot – a toy bamboo “gun” with wet shredded paper or kapasanglay fruit tamped into the opening & pushed by the bamboo shaft.
A simple story book with comic illustrations used by Grade One pupils in the 1950s.
Plantsa – clothes iron, filled with fired charcoal
Pupil’s desk – made of wood, used by Grades 1 and 2
Silong and Sagapa – rattan formed as shown used as pot (banga) holder and pot rings – wherein a pot rests.
Sugod – a fine women’s comb to catch hair lice
Tabungao – a man’s hat made from round squash, worn during the rainy season.
Tangke – bath water tank made of fired clay

We’re looking for a TPHS home in Poblacion Pasuquin to house historical exhibits and an operations staff.
Our preferences are in the following order:
a) An indoor space fit for occupancy that is presently unoccupied such as a ground floor or second floor of a 2-storey house or building, or b) a rundown bungalow with structural framing intact, or c) a vacant lot.
